*Hymn 496 “Sweet Hour of Prayer”

Prayer (unison)
O God, our God, we celebrate the new life which you have given us.  We have experienced broken lives made whole, old wounds of alienation healed over and tired spirits rejuvenated with new vision.  Gracious God, we are grateful for the purpose and possibilities you have placed before us.  Yet there are times when doubt has overcome hope, cynicism has replaced dedication, the world’s values have captured us more than yours.  Forgive us those times, we pray. Help us let go of the past that we might move joyfully into a new future that points to your love and justice.  AMEN  Linda Mines Elliot

Concerns and Celebrations
Let us pray in silence.

Unison Prayer
O eternal God, in whose appointment our life stands, and who committed our work to us, we commit our cares to you.  We thank you that we are your children, and that you have assured us that, while we are intent upon your will, you will heed our wants.  Fill us with that compassion for others’ troubles which comes from forgetfulness of our own; with  the charity of those who know their own unworthiness; and with the glad hope of the children of eternity.  And to you, the Beginning and the End, Lord of the living, Refuge of the dying, be thanks and praise for ever.  Amen   James Martineau
The Lord’s Prayer

*Hymn 700 vs. 1-3 “Abide With Me”

Benediction (unison)
May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face, may the rains fall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.  Amen
