Dear Members and Friends,

SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP

Come join us for worship Sunday November 17th at 9:00am, in person or Zoom. Rev. Charlotte will lead worship and Sean will bring us inspirational music. The message will focus on Mark 13:1-8and Birth Pangs. The text intends to give Jesus’ persecuted community hope and encourage steadfastness in the faith in the face of challenges and difficult times to come. Worship order attached. Sunday School.  Zoom link below.

SEARCH COMMITTEE UPDATE

The Search Committee. (Ann Noyes, Sam Hart, Pam Goff, Sarah Carr, and Kathie Carroll) has met frequently these past months, reviewing several applications for our new pastor position and conducting preliminary interviews via Zoom.  Next steps are second interviews, review sermons, and reference checks. A level of confidentiality is required as this process unfolds, so please don’t ask. The committee is encouraged by the caliber of the applicants and will concentrate, with God’s help, on finding the best fit for Chilmark Church and community. The final selected candidate will come meet the church, lead worship and see if you all agree they are a good match.  Though it is more work, it is a blessing to be able to pick our next minister!

SPECIAL MUSICAL GUESTS

On Sunday November 24th, Mark Alan Lovewell and Molly Conole will return as our special musical guests (pictured). They sing, play guitar and other instruments, and tell tales of the sea through their maritime collection of New England sea shanties. They last joined us for the wonderful Menemsha Blessing of the Fleet in May.
