All Saints and Fall Back Sunday
Dear Members and Friends,
SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP – ALL SAINTS DAY
Come join us for worship Sunday November 3rd at 9:00am, in person or Zoom. Rev. Charlotte will lead worship and Sean will bring us inspirational music. We will observe All Saints Day onthis Communion Sunday. This day commemorates all our saints: our ancestors; people of faith who carried and passed on the faith stories on to us; and individuals who followed God’s call, both within Christianity and outside our tradition. We will lift up these names during our worship time. Worship order attached. Sunday School after the first hymn. Zoom link below.
ELECTION DAY TUESDAY NOVEMBER 5th
A Sen. Raphael Warnock quote “…a vote is a kind of prayer for the world we desire….”
On Election Day, Tuesday Nov. 5th, we American citizens exercise our civic responsibility to vote. The consequences of our choices impact our community and nation for generations to come. A reminder: the Chilmark Community Church will be open all day for prayer and meditation. Come pray before or after you vote, or whenever you need a place to sit for a bit of quiet and calm – to anchor yourself in the Light that drives out all darkness.
ART SHOW: CHILMARK CHURCH DRAWINGS
Anne Ganz and Virginia Stone’s show “Chilmark Community Church Drawings” has ended at the library. What a joy it was to see all the creative pictures that embraced the spirit of the church. Click here to learn more.
CHILMARK CHURCH GOING GREENER!
Cape Light Compact energy efficiency work with RISE Engineering to start November 4th and be completed in 4 weeks – with minimal disruption to the church. A great Christmas present! We will keep everyone updated on this important conversion from fossil fuels to heat pumps.
Pizza Night Tuesday @ 6pm
Pizza Night at the Church is an informal meal where the community at large can gather for camaraderie and food. It starts at 6pm with pizza, potluck salads, desserts and conversation followed by Bananagrams. It’s free and all are welcome. Last community meal for the fall will be Tuesday November 26th with chefs Tom and Janet.
Neighborhood Convention 130th Anniversary
Federated Church will host a special meeting of the Neighborhood Convention on Tuesday, November 12, at 11:00 a.m., the 130th anniversary of the founding of the coalition. This will be the only business/program meeting this year and will have a hosted lunch. In December, we will feature the annual visit of the Minnesingers to OB UMC Trinity Church, celebrating the long-standing support of the group.
