SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP
You are invited to join us for the Fifth Sunday after Pentecost June 23rd at 9:00am, in person or Zoom. Sean McMahon will be leading worship in Rev. Charlotte’s absence. Sermon is titled “Jesus Asleep at the Wheel” from Mark 4:35-41 where Jesus stills the powerful and frightening storm. Worship order attached. THE CHILDREN’S FAIR – HUGE SUCCESS!
A beautiful day dawned for this year’s Children’s fair! Many thanks to all of the volunteers who made it happen. Thank you Donnie for mowing late Friday evening and Julie for the Pony Rides with the Pond View Farm ponies. Thank you Sarah and Judy for manning the Fish Pond, Claire Ganz and Sarah Laux for the Face Painting, Janet Weidner for helping with the Ball Toss. The 50+ delicious cupcakes and decorating coordinated by Ann Noyes with helpers. Thank you, Jessica Campbell for making our Bounce House possible, Emily assisted with the water games and t-ball, Kathie Carroll for helping with games and pictures. Charlotte managed the bubbles table and Heather Goff the website and photos. Pam Goff was invaluable in the set up and clean up. There was a steady stream of families during the morning and we welcomed many new folks to the Fair. Click here for photos.

SUNDAY SCHOOL ASSISTANCE
As the church’s Sunday School continues to grow Claire Ganz (Superintendent/Lead teacher) would like to create a team of helpers to assist when needed. Currently Claire and Andy Carr, assistant, are teaching every Sunday with up to 9 children. We would like to ask those who would be willing to sign up as Lead Teacher or Assistant occasionally to contact Claire either in person or cganz@live.com. Lesson curriculum/activity instructions will be supplied. Please let Claire know what dates you would be available. Also, at the end of summer when Andy leaves for college we will be looking for an Assistant teacher for the Sunday morning classroom. This is a paid position. Please pass on any names or suggestions.

ASALH AWARDS
At a recent MV fundraiser for the Association for the Study of African Life and History (ASALH) two of our church friends were awarded this year’s 2024 Distinguished Achievers medal – Dr. Preston Noah Williams and Dr. Lorna Chambers Andrade. Congratulations Preston and Lorna for this well deserved recognition!
