The theme will be Business as Usual? based on Psalm 19 and John 2:13-22. Sunday School convenes after first hymn. Masks optional, worship order attached and Zoom link at bottom of page.

SAINTLY SUPPERS BEGIN!
Mardi Gras (finally)! We feasted on Cajun/Creole cuisine with St. Joan of Arc, the woman-warrior patron saint of New Orleans. Last Tuesday night, members of both the church and the community gathered to learn about St. Joan of Arc and to share food together. The evening began with singing and a short lesson and then dinner was served. Joan of Arc is the unofficial patron saint of New Orleans so the theme was festive and delicious! Thank you to Mo’s Lunch for the gumbo, Charlotte Wright for the rice and butternut squash soup, Judy Mayhew for the veggie casseroles and salad, and to Sarah Carr for the King Cake cupcakes with surprises hidden inside. Sean McMahon put together the music (with Isla’s help singing) and the program about St. Joan. Rolino Joseph sang the French lyrics. Everyone cheerfully chipped in to clean up. Next Saintly Supper is 5:30 Tuesday March 12th Irish fare and flair with St. Patrick, foe of snakes and patron saint of Ireland.
Final one is March 26th Portuguese Fisherman’s stew with St. Peter, patron saint of fishermen, and St. Anthony of Padua, patron saint of Portugal and the lost and found bin.
FROM REV. VICKY HANJIAN: Dementia Friends Workshop
First Congregational Church of West Tisbury will sponsor a free Dementia Friends Workshop at noon on March 4, 2024 at the church. The workshop is designed to help people be more comfortable with folks who have a form of dementia and to help remove the stigma associated with dementia. Bring a bag lunch. Dessert and beverage will be provided. Mary Holmes, Supervisor of the Supportive Day Program and the MV Center for Living, will present the 1 hour workshop. As our island community ages, it is inevitable that we will know of someone, friend or family member, who is experiencing the changes that come with some form of dementia.
