On Sunday, May 25, our church service moved to Menemsha for the annual Blessing of the Fleet and Memorial Day observance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Coast Guard participated with a boat and crew, and after the service, the children enjoyed climbing aboard and exploring the vessel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Claire Ganz read the names of all the boats in the harbor and their captains, offering a blessing for each. She then invited those gathered to toss flower blossoms into the water in remembrance of loved ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mark Lovewell provided music for the service, playing guitar and concertina, and continued to accompany those who walked down to the dock for the remembrance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a meaningful gathering with strong community participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
