SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Come join us for worship Sunday October 20th at 9:00am, in person or Zoom. Rev. Charlotte will be leading worship with Sean McMahon bringing us music. The message is “Great Service”<\/strong> from Mark 10:35-45. James and John see the signs that Jesus’ kingdom is imminent and they want to make sure their seats are reserved! This passage describes the arrogant request of the brothers to have future positions of power. Worship order attached. Sunday School after the first hymn.  Zoom link below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Church Meeting immediately at the end of worship to discuss and vote on the Cape Light Compact energy efficiency proposal. Proposal was emailed to members on Wednesday. In person or Zoom. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rev. Charlotte will be away next week and traveling to CT for a visit with parents. Sean McMahon will be double billed as worship leader and music minister on Sunday October 27th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sunday School in need of Assistant Teacher help.\u00a0<\/strong>Please consider volunteering for one or two Sunday mornings while we search for the permanent replacement. PUMPKIN CARVING COMING SOON!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Help prepare the church’s Jack-o-lantern display for Halloween. Carve away on Tuesday October 29th 4:30-5:30pm<\/strong>. Stay for Pizza Night. Bring and carve 2 pumpkins and leave one to light up our front porch. All ages and skill levels are welcome. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pizza Night at the Church is an informal meal where the community at large can gather for camaraderie and food. It starts at 6pm with pizza, potluck salads, desserts  and conversation followed by Bananagrams for those who want a game.  It\u2019s free and all are welcome. Help needed at 5:30 with dinner set up.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Neighborhood Convention 130th<\/sup>\u00a0Anniversary<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Federated Church will host a special meeting of the Neighborhood Convention on Tuesday, November 12, at 11:00 a.m., the 130th anniversary of the founding of the coalition, which came about when Island clergy decided that discord between denominations needed to be addressed and defeated.  In the years that followed, Neighborhood Convention became an interfaith organization promoting cooperation between Island houses of faith, presenting and supporting groups which contribute to the betterment of all. This meeting will present an overview of those 130 years, featuring current members of the board and special guest Steven Ewing.  A light lunch will be provided in the Parish House following the program. This will be the only business\/program meeting this year. In December, we will feature the annual visit of the Minnesingers to OB UMC Trinity Church, celebrating our long-standing support of the group. Volunteers are needed to provide sandwiches, savories, and sweets, as well as setup and cleanup crews.  Please contact Mary-Jean Miner at<\/strong> mjminer7@yahoo.com<\/a>, or 508-221-8703.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
