SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You are invited to join us for the Twelfth Sunday after Pentecost August 11th at 9:00am, in person or Zoom. Rev. Charlotte is back and will be leading worship with Sean McMahon our Music Minister. Sermon is titled “Stepping Out of the Boat” <\/strong>from Matthew 14:22-33. Sunday School is available after the first hymn. Worship order attached. Calling all Chimark Church Choir members.\u00a0<\/strong>This Sunday after church (10:15) Sean will meet with the choir to practice the choral selection(s).\u00a0All are welcome to drop in and no past experience necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are sad to hear of the passing of Susan Murphy. She was on many town boards – Friends of Chilmark Library, Chilmark Finance Committee, Harbor Advisory Committee, etc. She was married to Lynn Murphy, had two sons – the late Lynn, Jr. and Lucas, and was stepmother to Lynn’s children. Recently she was “grandma” to Caitlin and Harrison Kisiel’s two boys. She was smart, strong willed, and a beautiful woman inside and out and will be deeply missed in Chilmark and beyond. May her memory be a blessing to those who knew and loved her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THE CHILMARK CHURCH CELEBRATION – SEPTEMBER 15th<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are planning an outdoor Celebration event for the church and our invited guests on Sunday, September 15th<\/sup>\u00a0from 1-3pm. We will share our story of resilience, courage and faithfulness – past, present and future – with food,\u00a0music and community.\u00a0Music by Sean McMahon and food by Quitsa Cuisine (Teresa Manning). The\u00a0church has worked hard\u00a0over the past 2 years, so it is now time to celebrate that journey together.\u00a0\u00a0Though we are a small church on an island this “New Old Church”\u00a0has a wonderful story to share of hope, strength, light and resistance. This painting, gifted by Allison Derusha in memory of her mother, depicts that story – church doors are always open for welcoming\u00a0in and for going out in Christ’s service. Invitations will be emailed out shortly.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
