The memorial for Carol Loud on July 18 was a wonderful occasion with music and poetry and remembrances.\u00a0\u00a0Phil Dieterich conducted a choir of the Vineyards\u2019 wonderful singers, many of whom sang with Carol in the community chorus or knew her from the years she played the organ and piano at Chilmark Church.\u00a0\u00a0Sarah Bayer played flute with Phil\u2019s accompaniment which filled the sanctuary with beauty. Sarah and her mother, Betsy, had played recorder music with Carol for many years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Many contributed to the lavish reception after the service and were serenaded by the Ukulele group of whom Carol was a member for years. Carol\u2019s sister Martha brought a beautiful cake from the Black Dog with her name and yellow roses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
