SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You are invited to join us for Pentecost Sunday May 19th at 9:00am, in person or Zoom. Rev. Charlotte will be leading worship along with Music Minister Sean McMahon. Sermon is titled “Pentecost Wind” <\/strong>from Acts 2:1-21. Pentecost Sunday is when the Christian churches commemorate the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles and others assembled in Jerusalem, Come, Holy Spirit, Come. Sunday School is available during worship. OPEN COUNCIL MEETING SUNDAY 10:15 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Sunday after church there will be an in-person and Zoom (link below) Open Council session for members. This is to follow up on the March 24th meeting where the new church bylaws\/organizational structure was approved. The agenda will consist of the following items: 1) Approve Nominating’s work on filling the committee positions. 2) Discussion of Sunday School’s continued success with additional staffing and funding. 3) UMC Litigation final report. 4) Financial report. 5) Report from Search Committee and minister contract. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2024 BLESSING OF THE FLEET <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sunday May 26th at Menemsha Harbor\u00a0(by Texaco station) at 9am.\u00a0We will have the beloved annual Blessing of the Fleet – commercial, leisure and Coast Guard – as our Sunday worship (rain or shine).\u00a0Mark Alan Lovewell and Molly Conole\u00a0<\/strong>will be our musical guests. They sing, play guitar and other instruments, and tell tales of the sea through their maritime collection of New England sea chanties. Invite your family and friends to this wonderful community-wide service in Menemsha 9am Sunday May 26th. Refreshments and fellowship will follow. The morning offering will be for the\u00a0USCG Station Menemsha Auxiliary Fund to support our USCG personnel and their families.\u00a0NO ZOOM<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Parables of Jesus – Kairos Bible Study<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

COMMUNITY PIZZA NIGHT TUESDAY @ 6pm<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pizza Night at the church is an informal meal where the community at large can gather for camaraderie and food. It starts at 6pm with pizza, potluck salads and desserts, and is followed by Bananagrams for those who want a game.  It\u2019s free and all are welcome. Set up and clean-up help appreciated. Janet and Tom will be preparing our last Spring Community meal on Tuesday May 28th – a Pasta Feast!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SUMMER Fun- RAISERS STARTING<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chilmark Flea Market<\/strong> will be starting on Saturday June 22 and will run Wednesday and Saturdays 9am-2pm until after Labor Day. Several positions are still open: Parking Lot assistant<\/strong> for Wednesdays 9:30-1:30 @ $15 per hour. This is ideal for a younger person who likes to be outside, run around, and tell people where to go. Also The Flea needs Certified Traffic Flaggers<\/strong> for Wed and Sat 9:30-1:30 shifts. This is the North Road traffic detail that manages street flow. It pays $40\/hour, requires age over 18 and certification (on-line MA course) which the church will reimburse. This MA Flagger certification is good for two years. Please let Kathy Teel (kateel@comcast.net<\/a>) or Charlotte know ASAP of your interest or recommendations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lobster Roll Sales<\/strong> begin Tuesday June 25th and run weekly thru August. Emily Broderick (erbroderick@hotmail.com<\/a>) is collecting sign-ups for the 3 Tuesday shifts – Morning Prep, Afternoon assembly, Sale\/Clean up, and, in addition, Wednesday Flea vendor lunch sale (if extra). Sign up for one shift or every week! Please let her know of your schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sean has recorded his recent Sunday morning piano improvisations.
