SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You are invited to join us for the Second Sunday after Easter April 7th at 9:00am, in person or Zoom. Rev. Janet Newton, guest preacher, will be leading worship along with Sean McMahon. Sermon is “Talking About Trees” <\/strong>from John 20:19-23 with a contemporary reading from Adrienne Rich. It is an invitation to explore faith – both its fragility and its strength – through the unlikely intersection of fine china, flowering pears, and the followers of Jesus. Communion will be served. On Sunday April 14th Rev. Vicky Hanjian will return as guest minister and is looking forward to catching up on all the Chilmark Church happenings. Rev. Charlotte will be away until April 17th closing out her parent’s CT home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rev. Janet Newton has served as the minister for the Unitarian Universalist Society of MV since 2022. Originally from the high desert of New Mexico, since 2014 she has made her home on the Vineyard, and lives with her wife and two daughters in Edgartown. A Religious Naturalist, Janet sources the holy through the natural world, the mysteries of creativity, and the power of authentic community engagement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The Flowering of the Cross\u00a0<\/strong>represents the transition from crucifixion darkness to Easter resurrection light and serves as a sign of hope for our community and world. On Easter morning the flowered cross on our porch symbolized the new life, hope, and beauty which Easter brings.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pizza Night Tuesday\u00a0@ 6pm\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pizza Night at the Church is an informal meal where the community at large can gather for camaraderie and food. It starts at 6pm with pizza, potluck salads, desserts  and conversation followed by Bananagrams for those who want a game.  It\u2019s free and all are welcome. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
