Our\u00a0Church family is happy to have you worshiping\u00a0God with us today.\u00a0Today we continue our readings from the Gospel according to Saint Mark. Mark\u00a0continues his rush description of the beginning of Jesus\u2019 ministry. The passage\u00a0we read\u00a0is a\u00a0\u00a0continuation\u00a0the second half of a carefully formed\u00a0 unit that began at Mark 1:14\u00a0&#8211;\u00a015,\u00a0with John the Baptizer\u2019s ministry\u00a0that came to an end with John\u00a0\u2019\u00a0s\u00a0arrest and<\/div>\n<div data-canvas-width=\"27.711999999999996\">the\u00a0beginning of Jesus ministry with\u00a0,\u00a0\u201cJesus came to Galilee, proclaiming the good news of\u00a0God.\u201d\u00a0Today\u2019s\u00a0reading is a\u00a0summary\u00a0and conclusion\u00a0of\u00a0\u00a0this section\u00a0of Mark\u00a0with verse<\/div>\n<div data-canvas-width=\"33.744\">39, \u201c\u00a0he [Jesus] went throughout Galilee, proclaiming the Good News in their\u00a0synagogues and casting out demons.\u201d<\/div>\n<div data-canvas-width=\"18.464\">This\u00a0summary\u00a0draws the introduction of\u00a0Jesus\u2019 ministry to its<\/div>\n<div data-canvas-width=\"45.344\">close.\u00a0Please note that all of the key elements of Jesus\u2019 ministry are presented within the unit:\u00a0a) his preaching (v. 15), b) his call of others to join him in ministry (vs. 16\u00a0&#8211;\u00a020), c) his\u00a0teaching ministry (vs. 21\u00a0&#8211;\u00a022), d) his ministry of exorcism (vs. 23-28), e) his healing\u00a0ministry\u00a0(vs. 29\u00a0-34), and f) his prayer ministry (periods of prayerful communion with\u00a0God, v. 35). Jesus used every method to\u00a0bring the\u00a0Kingdom of God\u00a0on earth as it is in<\/div>\n<div data-canvas-width=\"51.136\">heaven\u00a0. Paul said that Jesus, \u201cbecame all things to all people\u201d for the sake of the Good\u00a0News of God.<\/div>\n<div data-canvas-width=\"574.512\">Do you think that the church today still has or needs all these elements of Jesus\u2019\u00a0ministry for its sake of ministering to the world? If not,\u00a0then which\u00a0would you take out\u00a0and which would you include, and why?\u00a0Thanks for worshiping with us.
