Thanks<\/div>\n<div data-canvas-width=\"272.016\">for allowing God to lead you to this place!<\/div>\n<div data-canvas-width=\"258.11199999999997\">Our Bible readings for the day are from\u00a0the book of<\/div>\n<div data-canvas-width=\"330.47999999999996\">Jonah in the Jewish Scriptures and the gospel of St<\/div>\n<div data-canvas-width=\"212.88000000000002\">Mark in the Christian Scriptures.\u00a0The story of Jonah<\/div>\n<div data-canvas-width=\"90.39999999999999\">is fascinating:\u00a0the man whom God sent to change<\/div>\n<div data-canvas-width=\"324.608\">the wicked people of Nineveh did not want to go,<\/div>\n<div data-canvas-width=\"112.60800000000002\">so he tried to run\u00a0away\u00a0from God by taking\u00a0a ship<\/div>\n<div data-canvas-width=\"206.704\">going in the opposite direction.\u00a0A\u00a0violent storm\u00a0arose and the ship was about to sink. Somehow Jonah knew that this was because he\u00a0was disobeying God and confessed it to the captain and sailors who threw him\u00a0overboard to rid the ship of his curse.\u00a0H\u00a0e was then swallowed\u00a0by a big fish that vomited<\/div>\n<div data-canvas-width=\"37.04\">him on the\u00a0beach\u00a0of Nineveh.\u00a0Jonah went on to preach to the people and the\u00a0people\u00a0repented\u00a0; when the people\u00a0repented<\/div>\n<div data-canvas-width=\"278.30400000000003\">Jonah became angry with God because they\u00a0repented.<\/div>\n<div data-canvas-width=\"170.30400000000003\">What an intriguing story!\u00a0\u00a0What is the meaning of the story?<\/div>\n<div data-canvas-width=\"88.304\">Where is the\u00a0\u201cprophecy\u201d in the book and the story?<\/div>\n<div data-canvas-width=\"386.1600000000001\">The gospel reading tells of the beginning of Jesus\u2019 ministry:<\/div>\n<div data-canvas-width=\"166.65600000000003\">\u201cafter John was arrested\u00a0Jesus came preaching the Good News of God to all, \u2018The time is fulfilled, and the\u00a0kingdom of God has come near; repent and believe the Good News.\u2019\u201d<\/div>\n<div data-canvas-width=\"93.632\">Both readings\u00a0are about missions and bringing God\u2019s Good News to the lost and the least.\u00a0May God speak to us all<\/div>\n<div data-canvas-width=\"150.752\">through these readings\u00a0!<\/div>\n<div data-canvas-width=\"62.70400000000001\">Sincerely,<\/div>\n<div data-canvas-width=\"55.67999999999999\">Ernest Belisle<\/div>\n<div data-canvas-width=\"51.376000000000005\">(Pastor)<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome!
