A Mother\u2019s Day Prayer\u2026<\/p>\n

\u201cChildren are a gift from the\u00a0Lord; they are a reward from him.\u201d Psalm 127:3 (NLT)<\/p>\n

\u201cBefore I\u00a0formed you in the womb,\u00a0I knew you; Before you were born, I\u00a0sanctified you;
\nI\u00a0ordained you a prophet to the nations.\u201d Jeremiah 1:5 (N KJV)<\/p>\n

Gracious God,<\/p>\n

As this new day unfolds, I want to pause and thank you for all the mothers of this world; the memories of our mothers, the faithful mothers of the present, and the mothers of the future. I pray that you remind mothers who have given birth and those who have raised children they did not birth that you are always with them.<\/p>\n

During these challenging times of physical distancing and uncertainty, let us not forget the many scarifies our mothers have made over the years. Let our mothers persevere and not give up because their current situation seems bleak. Grant the mothers of the world the courage and strength to keep on climbing as encouraged in this poem by Langston Hughes,<\/p>\n

Mother to Son<\/strong><\/p>\n

Well, son, I\u2019ll tell you:
\nLife for me ain\u2019t been no crystal stair.
\nIt\u2019s had tacks in it,
\nAnd splinters,
\nAnd boards torn up,
\nAnd places with no carpet on the floor\u2014
\nBare.
\nBut all the time
\nI\u2019se been a-climbin\u2019 on,
\nAnd reachin\u2019 landin\u2019s,
\nAnd turnin\u2019 corners,
\nAnd sometimes goin\u2019 in the dark
\nWhere there ain\u2019t been no light.
\nSo boy, don\u2019t you turn back.

Thank you, God, for our mothers; thank you for their strength of character and their love for you. Bless them with long life and satisfy them with the desires of their hearts and they diligently seek after you.<\/p>\n

May the\u00a0Lord\u00a0bless our Mothers and\u00a0keep them;
\nThe\u00a0Lord\u00a0make His face shine upon our Mothers,
\nAnd\u00a0be gracious to them; May the\u00a0Lord lift up His countenance upon all Mothers,
