May I be a guard for those who need protection,<\/p>\n
A guide for those on the path,<\/p>\n
A boat, a raft, a bridge for those who wish to cross the flood.<\/p>\n
May I be a lamp in the darkness,<\/p>\n
A resting place for the weary,<\/p>\n
A healing medicine for all who are sick,<\/p>\n
A vase of plenty, a tree of miracles;<\/p>\n
And for the boundless multitudes of living beings,<\/p>\n
May I bring sustenance and awakening,<\/p>\n
Enduring like the earth and sky<\/p>\n
Until all beings are freed from sorrow,<\/p>\n
And all are awakened.<\/p>\n
THE PRAYER OF ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI<\/p>\n
Make me an instrument of your peace,<\/p>\n
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.<\/p>\n
Where there is injury, pardon.<\/p>\n
Where there is doubt, faith.<\/p>\n
Where there is darkness, light.<\/p>\n
Where there is sadness, joy.<\/p>\n
O divine Being, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love.<\/p>\n
