\nLord, A month has passed since the earthquake in Haiti.\u00a0 We realize that the ground beneath our feet is not as solid as we had imagined.<\/strong>
\nAs the things we have built crumble about us, we know too well how small we truly are on this ever-changing, ever-moving planet we call home.
\nYet you have promised never to forget us.\u00a0 Lord, comfort the people of Haiti.\u00a0 Be their rock when the earth refuses to stand still, and shelter them under your wings when homes no longer exist.<\/strong>
\nEmbrace in your arms those who have died.\u00a0 Console the hearts of those who mourn, and ease the pain of the wounded.
\nPierce our hearts with compassion, we who watch from afar. Move us to act swiftly, to work for justice always and to pray unceasingly for those without hope.<\/strong>
\nFor though the mountains leave their place and the hills be tossed to the ground, your love shall never leave us, and your promise of peace will never be shaken.\u00a0 Amen\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 from\u00a0 a prayer by Diana Macalintai,<\/p>\n

\nLet us pray in silence for the people of Haiti, for those whose names we have spoken and for those close to our hearts.<\/em>

\nWe do not live by bread alone.
\nWe pant for your every word, O God,
\nAnd pine for your breathings about us.
\nThough we presume to know all mysteries,
\nAnd boast of knowledge beyond that of our ancestors, In truth, We struggle to answer the simplest of questions. We second guess ourselves and one another at every turn. Teach us, O God, our humble place in the universe As we walk through this howling wilderness.
