But she spoke about the validity of the traditional order of worship.\u00a0 The <em><strong>Gathering<\/strong><\/em> comes first,\u00a0 remembering the early Jesus followers who met in their homes or synagogues.\u00a0 The praise and celebration begins the service with the <em><strong>call to worship and a hymn<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 The <strong><em>Peace<\/em> <\/strong>comes before confession and prayer to symbolize our forgiveness of one another and our unity and brotherhood under God.\u00a0 <strong><em>Confession<\/em> <\/strong>is our turning to God&#8217;s presence, away from distractions, followed by words of assurance. <strong><em>Proclamation and Praise<\/em> <\/strong>is the reading of the lessons.\u00a0 The <strong><em>sermon<\/em> <\/strong>or discussion for discernment\u00a0 follows the lessons.\u00a0 <strong><em>Prayer<\/em> <\/strong>is followed by <strong><em>offering<\/em> <\/strong>of our selves and service and <em><strong>dedication<\/strong><\/em> of gifts. <em><strong>Thansgiving<\/strong><\/em> and communion and <em><strong>Benediction<\/strong><\/em> close the gathering.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Arlene Bodge created the order of worship and it was not transferable to this site.
