\nThe days are surely coming, says the Lord, when I will fulfill the promises I have made.
\nTo you, O Lord, we lift up our souls: In you, O God, we trust.
\nThe one who is coming will show us the path of steadfast love and faithfulness.
\nTeach us your ways, O God of our salvation. We light this candle in the sure hope that God\u2019s promises endure.

\nWe will live in the light of hope as we await the coming of the Lord.<\/p>\n

\nAlmighty God, shield of the oppressed, hear us as we pray for the friendless and the lonely, the tempted and the unbelieving.\u00a0 Be merciful to those who suffer, in body or in mind, to those who are in danger or distress, and who have suffered loss.\u00a0 Let your love surround the infirm and the aged.\u00a0 Be especially near to those who are passing through the valley of death.\u00a0 May they find eternal rest, and light at the evening time.\u00a0 AMEN
