This year’s Crop walk to fight hunger takes place on October 18th AT 1:30 Starting from St. Augustine’s Church in Vineyard Haven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If we work together, we can end world hunger. That’s why we’re participating in the CROP Hunger Walk to support CWS and help families who are struggling with hunger. Please join us with your steps and your donations. Together we will provide more meals for the growing number of people in our community who need them and create greater food security in communities around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chilmark Church has been a major participant and contributor to MV CROP for many years. In 2025 the church raised over $2500 towards the island’s $30,000 goal. The 3 mile Hunger walk is held annually on the Sunday following October Columbus Day. From the Martha’s Vineyard CROP WALK. site: “With the big turn from the island\u2019s summer season now behind us, it\u2019s time to put one of the big community events of the fall on your ministry and personal calendars:  Join us for the 36<\/strong>th<\/strong><\/sup> Annual Martha\u2019s Vineyard CROP Hunger Walk on Sunday, October 18th.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the face of the continuing needs of hungry people around the world and on Martha\u2019s Vineyard, we remain steadfast in our commitment to raising money in the fight against hunger through our annual hunger walks.  Over the course of our first 35 years, the MV CROP Hunger Walks have raised $738,558 to benefit the poor and hungry around the world and on our own island.   Last year, we once again were one of the top walks in the nation, raising $40,005, second highest in our history and 39th<\/sup> in the \u201cCream of the CROP\u201d national recognition.  We\u2019re so very grateful for all our walkers and donors who join us each year, especially the teams of members of island churches, synagogues, and other religious assemblies, and hope there will be new walkers and teams joining us in October.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
