\nO God, our God, we celebrate the new life which you have given us.\u00a0 We have experienced broken lives made whole, old wounds of alienation healed over and tired spirits rejuvenated with new vision.\u00a0 Gracious God, we are grateful for the purpose and possibilities you have placed before us.\u00a0 Yet there are times when doubt has overcome hope, cynicism has replaced dedication, the world\u2019s values have captured us more than yours.\u00a0 Forgive us those times, we pray. \nO eternal God, in whose appointment our life stands, and who committed our work to us, we commit our cares to you.\u00a0 We thank you that we are your children, and that you have assured us that, while we are intent upon your will, you will heed our wants.\u00a0 Fill us with that compassion for others\u2019 troubles which comes from forgetfulness of our own; with\u00a0 the charity of those who know their own unworthiness; and with the glad hope of the children of eternity.\u00a0 And to you, the Beginning and the End, Lord of the living, Refuge of the dying, be thanks and praise for ever.\u00a0 Amen\u00a0\u00a0 James Martineau<\/em>
