UPDATES ON PROGRESS AND PROBLEMS

BELL AND STEEPLE PROJECTS

The project started when the leaks were persistent and the pans catching the water were insufficient in number and depth!

The first inspections and recommendations were done by Charlie Shipway in June.1443

Roy Riley did a temporary patch in November and will begin roof repairs in late December. He studied and photographed the bell and built ladders and installed light to facilitate bell repairs.

Clark and Bob researched the bell and visited the Menemsha School Bell at the Police Dept.  It has a wooden wheel for the rope too. Bob Hungerford made a template to size a new wheel for the rope. The final work can’t be done until warm weather because of paint and glue.
