People: when the days have begun to lengthen and new life is just around the corner.

Leader: Our God is a promise maker and a promise keeper.

*Hymn Come, Thou fount of Every Blessing #400

Prayer of Confession (Unison):

The Lenten season calls us to repentance, and so, we confess our reluctance to look at ourselves. A good look often reveals things we really do not want to see, shortcomings we do not want to own. Most times we like ourselves just the way we are. During this Lenten season we ask for the courage to look at ourselves anew and to discern the ways we may become more as you envision us to be.
