People: We give thanks, for in Christ we are a new people.

Leader: Sing praise, for we come to worship God,

All: The God of our mothers and fathers, the God of all creation! AMEN.

Prayer of Invocation (in unison)

Pull us together, God. Pull each of us together from the scattered pieces that our distracted way of life sometimes creates. Pull us together, God, from the conflicts and the fears that overwhelm us. Pull us together, each and all, by your example and your Word and by your Spirit which you have given us for all time in the person and presence of Jesus Christ. AMEN.
