Gathering and Announcements
Introit:  Reality by Vladimir  Cosma
Call to Worship
No one has ever seen God;
If we love one another, God lives in us, and his love is perfected in us.   John4:12

*Hymn: # 557 “Blest Be the Tie That Binds”

Caring and compassionate Creator, we enter this place set apart for your worship, knowing that we have failed to see you in other places.  We have ignored your beauty around us, in earth and sky, in plants and creatures, in the people who surround us.  We have chosen to live more by our fears than by our faith, to be weighed down by what we do not have, rather than rejoicing in your gifts to us.  In these moments together, draw us so close that we cannot help but know every day that you are with us, wherever we go.  Enlarge our capacity to care, so we may see you in all whom we meet.  In the spirit of Jesus.  Amen  Lavon Baylor
(silent reflection)
Words of Assurance
God says to us: You are my chosen ones.  I love you.  I’m proud of you.  Stand firm in your renewed commitment.  Know that I have forgiven you; I call you by name; you are mine.  I have entered into covenant with you and will stand by you in all times and all places.  Dare to live fully the life to which I have called you.  Amen   Lavon Baylor

Concerns and Prayers

Unison prayer
In you, O god, every family on earth receives its name.  Illumine the homes of this earth with the light of your love, granting courage to those who are hurt or lonely, endurance to those who care for sick family members, and wisdom to those in fearful times of change.  We thank you for gifts of love we have received from mother, father, spouse, child, or companion.  As we have been loved by you and by others, so may we love.  Grant us your peace.  Amen

Silent prayer

Lord’s Prayer

Prayer of Dedication:
For the gift of creation, the gift of your love, and the gift of the spirit by which we live, we thank you and give you the fruit of our hands.  May your grace be proclaimed by the gifts that we give. AMEN
